It’s quite easy to fire off a number of cliched superlatives in a budding and breakthrough DJ, Producer and Promoters Biography. It’s even easier to do so when said list of accolades are indeed true. In Generator’s case, they are more than worthy applications of merit rendered to a young artist that has truly worked through the paces to fine tune and hone his skills in all three of the areas highlighted above.
Of course like any budding artiste, the taste for good quality underground music came first, followed by the hunger that comes to mix it and just a little over ten years ago, Generator did just that. Beautifully fusing hard dance, hard trance and hardstyle in a number of different energetic performances, he quickly bounced from the bed room to the big room at a number of venues around his home town of Bournemouth. This was a feat that continued (like his profile) to grow for a period of three years of entertaining the masses before taking a much needed and very important five year hiatus.
Changing his path and taking different professional directions, Generator’s thirst for the business was re-ignited in late 2009, sorely missing the roar of a crowd and the cold steel of the ones and twos, our would be main stage hero started thrashing out a unique sequencing of hard dance and hardstyle that quickly got him back on the proverbial horse and rocking parties such as Implosion, Dark Matter, Fractal Chaos and Freedom Freeks, before a star turn in 2010 opened the doors for opportunities in both event management, promotion and something that had been on the horizon for a near decade… studio production.
His debut track entitled ‘Diesel’ was signed to the John Black owned Implosion Digital (the now infamous South Coast label that features hard edged music’s favourite founding fore fathers the Organ Donors on it’s executive team) and received a top five chart position on industry leader Track It Down’s hard dance chart giving rise to support from the likes of Jon The Baptist & DJ Chuck-E in their peak time sets UK wide. Generator's sophomore effort, ‘Chains’ was equally as well received, this time notching up chart positions on a number of download sites and getting a more wide spread play list from the who’s who of the new school in hard music. This would bring Generator to the attention of hard electrik hero and hard house legend Scott Attrill and BK respectively who signed the third in Generator's armoury 'Cylinders' to the infamously successful label Riot! Recordings, which, would form the start of a solid partnership between artist and label and see the release of further singles both on Riot and Scott's very own Traffic Records.
Naturally this only fed Generator's hunger to produce more and so followed the addictive 'Sexually Infected' (on Traffic), the extremely catchy 'Little Spys' (also on Traffic), the massively memorable 'Somethings Cum Inside Me' (Traffic), the chart topping 'Flaccid' and 'Sticky Fingers' (both on Riot!), the Agami Mosh penned 'Mad Breathing' (Riot!), the super smash hit 'Saved My Life' (Riot!) and the recently released and much acclaimed 'Ear Bashing' (Riot!), many of which received acclaim from Mixmag, DJ Mag, BBC Radio 1 and in some cases all three.
Furthermore, Generator then produced and was charged with the undertaking of several remixes for a number of producers that includes a remix of 'Bass Medication' for Shaun Livener on Universal Nation Recordings, an extremely popular remix of Luca Antolini's 'Powerful Reloaded' for United Styles and most notably, the recent completion of his contribution to the epic remix and re-release pack for Scott Attrill's seminal anthem 'Girls Love Techno' which sees Generator turning in a headline set worthy version of the best selling dance anthem.
It would be important then to also mention two further major advancements in Generator's ever growing career. Firstly, the writing, producing and development of his debut artist album 'Mechanics' which is now due for release in the Summer and additionally, Generator's first ever compilation mix for a retail distributed two mix album, 'Live For The Weekend', where he shares the album with hard dance star Helen G. Both titles are set for a majorly advertised and well distributed release on Riot!
Consistently and evidently liking to keep himself busy, Generator also produces a monthly Soundcloud, Pod-o-matic, Mixcloud and iTunes distributed Podcast, which provides a full, upfront mix from Generator each and every month and has featured very special guest mixes from celebrated artists such as Dan Kelly, Ash Preston, Brad Blitt, Joe Rogers, Shaun T, Agami Mosh, Dav Gomrass, Hardforze, DJ Audi, Argy, Joey Riot, Luca Antolini, Scott Attrill and many more since it's inception.
Not content with just producing and DJ’ing the aforementioned bug for promotion came with the launch of a series of Generator produced and approved events flying under the banner of Spun Out in Bournemouth.
Featuring our man as the host, the brand gave rise to guest headline performances from such underground luminaries as Ed Real, Joey Riot, Darwin, Al Storm, Jon The Baptist and Chuck-E and with due diligence and a proven professional track record now in the trinity of DJ’ing, producing and promoting; it wasn’t at all long before Bournemouth’s hard dance communities favourite sons, the Organ Donors welcomed Generator to the event management team of their now internationally recognised Audio Surgery event brand.
As part of the Audio Surgery HQ team, Generator has been afforded the opportunity to not only become resident for what can only be described as hard edged dance music's hottest tour brand in the World right now, but also an inroad through that to further play at some his best gigs yet including, but not limited to Riot!, Bionic, Resonate, Forbidden, Contact, Storm and of course Audio Surgery itself which now tours in every major country in the World, meaning Generator’s hard work and dedication in all areas of his entertainment focus appear to be paying off and rightfully so.
Now signed to Curious Artist Management and presently continuing on the path of presenting, well blended, energy driven and most importantly deliciously hard music to the masses as both DJ and entertainer and no less working closely on his now eagerly awaited first artist album which is due to drop any minute on Scott Attrill’s infamous Riot! label, a monthly much loved Podcast to maintain, a slate of remixes on the agenda and a steady flow of dates Worldwide performing for Audio Surgery and Riot; he may be ten years in and out of the game, but trust us when we say, this Generator’s just getting warmed up, because if you’ve ever witnessed him on a stage, you’ll know this is one DJ full of raw power!
