General Bounce is 30 year old Dave Gray, a DJ known across the North for playing hard house, hard trance, scouse house and of course, bounce.

Dave first began learning to DJ at the age of 14, at his local youth club back in 1998. He reached club level in 2001 and after years of playing in the clubs and bars of West Yorkshire, Dave came to the attention of the local hard dance scene when he became a resident for Shock at the Kube in Wakefield in 2005. He quickly became known for his widely-influenced sets combining happy scouse house melodies with banging hard house beats. As Shock was coming to an end in 2007, he began to build his name further afield and has continued to grow ever since.

From 2007 onwards he became a resident for Nostalgia at Viva in Wakefield, and also began to appear at bounce and scouse house events in the North West at the heart of the scene. Throughout all this Dave kept a firm interest in hard house, and his ability to play banging sets of all things hard gained enough recognition to earn him 4th place at the Parlez Vous DJ Competition Final in 2007.

10 years of consistent hard work finally paid off in September 2010 when Dave made his debut as a Cheeky Tracks resident at Rave On. From this point on his name has blown up bigger than ever. He has gone from being a resident DJ at their events to being a firm fixture within the Cheeky Tracks team. He now co-manages the Cheeky Tracks record label, and in the transition from being a Nostalgia resident to Rave On regular, he returned his focus to the harder styles while also continuing to support and be involved with the Northwest bounce scene. Not afraid to bring together influences from the sounds he loves, this has given his sets a trademark sound that has gained a reputation for being party music as tough as it is fun, balancing uplifting melodies with pumping beats and filthy riffs.

Since 2006 Dave has gradually become more involved in producing, and the move from DJ to producer has seen him take this sound into the studio and apply it to various styles of hard dance and bounce, collaborating with the likes of Leigh Green, Paul F, Kye Shand, Klubfiller, Digital Mafia, Elivate and many others.

His commitment for his 2 favourite scenes has led to bookings across both the hard dance and UK bounce scenes, regardless of the divide between the 2 - since his Rave On debut he has played uplifting bounce sets at Wigan Pier, Sanctuary vs Frequency, UK Bounce Concept and Bounce Back and also peak time sets for much harder, NRG-based brands such as Disturbed and Boxed.

Whatever direction his career takes in the future, you can be sure Dave will continue to do what he has done since his first club set 11 years ago - play the music he believes it should be.... happy, uplifting and stomping!
