About
Long-standing promoter, DJ and producer, Geddes is one of the true pioneers of the
house and techno scene in London. Among those ahead of the game when it came
to the decline of the super club and the dawn of a new era of raves in warehouses,
Geddes and the now legendary event series mulletover, (founded in 2004 with Rob
Star) became an integral cog in the evolution of a thriving underground.
In the intervening decade, Geddes has turned his attention to a number of projects
including the launch of the murmur imprint in 2008, his own nascent productions and
the emergence of another eminent brand, Nofitstate – a series of events dedicated to
world-class house and techno line-ups and sonic detail in quality spaces. 2013 marks
the launch of NFS, a new label that aims to build on the integrity of Nofitstate. A joint
venture with the prolific Leeds born producer Simon Baker, the label is set to embody
a more techno leaning and a strong focus on the visual with some exciting artistic
collaborations in the pipeline.
The longevity of mulletover with Geddes at the helm as its devoted curator and
resident DJ is testament to its monumental success and next year sees the event
enter its tenth year making it a benchmark in London rave history. mulletover in 2013
has got stages at UK festivals and beyond and can be seen next at the new WE ARE
FSTVL, Eastern Electrics and Unknown in Croatia. Nofitstate will have dates at We
Love… in Ibiza this summer.
On the production front, Geddes has been honing his skills since 2006 with releases
on labels such as Moodmusic, Mobilee and Tsuba and of course own label murmur.
Crafting a tougher sharper sound of late and treading the line between house and
techno, EPs are in the works for NFS and Leftroom.
A born and raised Londoner, Geddes is tireless in his quest to inject freshness into
his surrounding nightlife and continues to be a consistently fresh source of musical
escapades. Along with the on-going support and love from a tight community of
fans and artists alike, the omnipresence of Geddes and his contribution to the
underground scene is set to endure.
