About
A filmmaker with a love for good music. In various experimental/industrial bands from 1992. I was
a singer at one point, while I was studying film & playing gigs all over London. One very noisy gig at Sean McCluskey's Love Ranch night in January 1993 ended after 7 minutes, shut off by Lisa Loud! I continued to make Electronic music where I could afford cheap synth/recording gear, and when software recording became accessible I was in 7th Heaven and got intense with software sequencers, really intricate use of tiny samples (lots of train sounds). I recorded my first album DREAMING IN PAIRS on a 250Mhz Mac G3 laptop I bought 2nd hand through Loot and released this through Expanding records. I recorded & released music to keep me sane while working my ass off in VFX for films. I released music as "Vessel" between 2002-2006 ("4 year lifespan"!) on Expanding Records (2 albums, 7" and comps), Cactus Island (3" CD EP) and my own Pictureland Records (1 lp) and Pet Shop Boys Back to Mine. Loved hearing my own music on Peely's show & getting a wider audience.
I still love making music & I'm really into finding & listening to other musicians at the moment, but my main focus is progressing my film work, peppered with occasionally doing my own soundtracks (for smaller things)
and spontaneously coming out with songs through twitter or whatever feels relevant at the time. I'm not ruling out doing/releasing more music... if there's any interest... If not I'll carry on anyway... oozing out some tracks here every now and again gx
