garner is a rising singer/songwriter based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Coming from a family with well-established jazz musicians including her late grandfather, Honeymoon Garner of the Fred Ford-Honeymoon Garner Trio and her father, Bobby LaVell currently with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, music has and continues to be an important part of her life.

As a young girl she began singing and playing in church choirs, school bands and orchestras. Playing violin from fourth grade, she has also picked up other instruments along the years including French horn, electric bass guitar, clarinet, piano and most recently acoustic and electric guitars.

Her musical influences reach far and wide. Some of her favorite artists include: Stevie Wonder, Phoebe Snow, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Earth, Wind and Fire, Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, Donny Hathaway, John Coltrane, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, India Arie, SuperHeavy, Janelle Monae, Jamiroquai, The Roots, and Talib Kweli.
