DJ and musician Galet’s real name is Dmitry. He’s from St. Petersburg. His passion for came from his father. Dmitry grew up in the musical surround of Pink Floyd, Genesis, Alan Parsons, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Laid Back, The Beatles… Most of these musicians he listens to so far. Going to raves and nightclubs discovered techno music to him. “I listened to such artists as: Chris Liebing, Carl Cox, Westbam, Marco Bailey, Marco Carola, Adam Beyer, Green Velvet, Joey Beltram, Mauro Piccoto, Alexander Kowalski, Dj Hell, Josh Wink, Miss Kittin, Speedy J, Marco Lenzi, Jeff Mills…”.
In 2005 he bought a turntable and ordered a pack of minimal techno records to learn the nature of music-making. Started making private parties and small open-airs with such musical preferences. Once upon a time their gig happened at an abandoned factory, and the name ‘Factory Groove’ was born. Currently, the Factory Groove parties became annual, they take place in the same venue year after year. “I am currently making music and occasionally playing as a DJ. I use either records, or Ableton. My musical guidelines are Brighton, wonky, electro and experimental techno”.
