About
18-year-old Seattle native, Gabrielle Borromeo, signed to MMG management in 2010 after she created quite a buzz as a singer, pianist, and guitar player with performances throughout the state of Washington. The fascination with this talented young lady of Filipino, Spanish, Chinese and Italian descent traveled all the way to New York City. She quickly followed that path and moved to the Big Apple to establish her sound that is reminiscent of artists such as Taylor Swift, Michelle Branch, and Stacie Orrico.
Gabrielle, a.k.a Gaby, is a gifted young soprano singer. The emotion and passion in her voice has a trans-generational appeal and is a force to be reckoned with. Her ability to write and produce records on her own quickly became evident as she began to collaborate with producers such as Frank Ocean, Mher Faillan, Rockwilder, John Legend, Ryan Tedder, Fedro, All Star, Alan English, and songwriters including Lindy Robbins, Winter Gordon, and Stefanie Fair, Brian Neal, Frankie Storm, Priscilla Renea. Gaby’s sound is unique, staying true to her young age, yet relatable to all audiences.
Gaby’s past experience includes modeling for United Colors of Benetton in Seattle, as well as training in acting and theater, classical music and opera, with the ability to sing in French, Italian, Filipino, and English. She received formal ballet training from the Ballet Academy of Performing Arts, the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and International School of Ballet. She performed in the Balik Bayan Festival in the Philippines, the Seattle Cultural Center, and has won and placed as a finalist in several Seattle, Washington-based competitions.
Gaby stands true to her family-oriented upbringing and remains committed to being a positive role model to other young girls and children. Each year, she travels to the Philippines with her family to provide medical aid to those in need.
Recently, Gaby landed an endorsement deal with one of the largest prom dress designers, Jovani, and will be the face of their 2012 prom dress line, including a music video, national and online print ads, with magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Teen Pop, etc running these ads. The song, entitled “Superstar,” written by Gaby specifically for Jovani, will be introduced in conjunction with the campaign in May of 2012.
