Like walking the line of thicker ice over a frozen lake, Furnafields maintain an exciting potential for sudden change. You find yourself doubting the predictability of their sound and the sturdiness of your footing, whilst listening or the more fervently for the capriciousness hidden within. It seems familiar at first; With Shields’ coarse narration comes a welcome nod to Joe Strummer and Isaac Brock, however, the accompanying guitar fuzz is whipped masterfully into shape by the hard graft and interlacing of intelligent riffs which set the stage for some gut spilling, frayed-nerve storytelling.
