Ru-Kasu has had a love for music since the womb due to spawning from the seed of a professional musician. He first heard Hip Hop at age eight and was hooked ever since. Thanks to Beat Street, it didn’t take too long for Ru-Kasu to grow to love the rest of the four core elements of hip hop (breakdancing and graffiti), soon taking a shine to turntabalism as well. Then in the mid 90s his ears were invaded by English electronic music; hardcore, jungle, house and eventually drum ‘n’ bass.

Though he’d been feeding his addiction to the black crack since 1998, it wasn’t until 2004 that Ru-Kasu bought his own decks, and by then he’d been playing out for a few years. At this point in time he’d been booked mostly by his (many) mates in the scene, but in the following years he would play at pretty much every venue and for every electronic music promoter in Perth.

Not only does Ru-Kasu have a long history of mixing many styles but had the chance to play at Thailand's Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan, @ Sunrise in 2010. His passion for playing House, Nu Disco and Funk outside of the bedroom grew stronger so since then his focus has stayed fixed on these styles getting him regular spots.

2012 sees Ru-Kasu playing many styles at many of Perths venues. So when it comes to anything Nu Disco, Funky House, UK Garage related, it’s incredibly unlikely you’ll find a more passionate and positive person.
