Melancholic music For lovers of music with a deeper purpose
More tracks by fumehalopinion
I've got fed up with my lack of progress concerning other tracks I'm recently working on and to fix my frustration (and to clear my mind), I decided to upload this demonstration of my new track, Ironclad. This is my first attempt on playing piano.
Lyrics included:
I am still held captive by the aftermath
And as I leave I walk with your scent
A taunting reminder of your image prevails
It is your lure to which I yearn and relent
You have merged in your false potential
A gordian knot to nurse your ravaged body
But you never have spoken an untrue word
I still believe we're ironclad
You advanced beyond all others
To mate with evening beings
I could taste your weary words
Your gaze won't meet the mine
I still believe we're Ironclad
Your absence requires a dystopian play
Which equally cherishes all shades of blue
Uncertain I'd waste my breath to transform
You into something I haven't wished to become
You advanced beyond all others
To mate with evening beings
I could taste your weary words
Your gaze won't meet the mine
I still believe we're Ironclad
We are Ironclad
We're Ironclad

Not a big fan of the vocals, love that synth though, reminds me of Super Mario 64

I thought this was pretty good, I agree with Conor Deegan, when i first heard the vocals i automatically thought of nick cave. I personally enjoyed the contrast of your voice to the piano. Great job!

@forever-forever-forever: I like his vocals too. This is how he sounds and this is how he feels and this is what it is. What more could you ask for. A lie?

I hope to hear more piano, because it's very nice (although I get this itching reminder of that water level from Super Mario 64 lol). Like others have noted, the way you sing this just doesn't quite fit over this mellow piano.

Your vocals would soubd great if they were a little more buried in the mix. Not that they aren't great as they are.

Nicely produced track. Need to work on your voice. The tone of your voice is fine, but the pitch is sometimes off and it is loud and very dry. Needs a bit of work to fit into such a spacey track.

the piano is very nice and reminds me of Eno a bit. the vocals are awkwardly close up and dry compared to the ethereal piano, though. They need to come down a bit and be pushed back. Overall a nice feel

I enjoy your voice quite a bit. It's very dark along with the piano.

This is all heart, extremely deep lyrics. I really like this.

Such a rich voice, such a sad song. I always fight with my low voice and try and sing higher so it's cool to hear you embracing the low deep voice! That percussive bass sound that comes in next really kept the song moving, I was hoping something new would happen. I would like it if you did a none demo version of this but only if you want to obviously. Take it easy, friend.

your voice reminds me of nick cave, especially when paired with the lyrics. which I think is good. this piece is really broody and you do a good job of escalating that around the 2.30 minute mark. A critique I'd like to make though is that you appear to be slurring your words, which puts me off a bit. so maybe that's something to work on :)

@forever-forever-forever: There is no percussion. This was recorded simultaniously. No metronome, nor tracklayering, nor editing with effects, just my voice and an electronic piano. With enough time at my hands you'll be able to hear an advanced, non-demonstrational version next week.
Thank you. If I manage I'll be looking forward in making one.

Another solid track, I don't like the percussion as much as "On Carbon Horses" but again you're voice is almost haunting, so soft and low. I like the experimentation with the keys also, gives the track a nice sharp feel to it. Look forward to more again. Thinking about an EP sometime?

@LatinSalsaDancers: His vocals are brilliant man. Just because their not the generic over emotive voices you hear all over the place. I like the dark, sombre tone this guy has.

No offence, it was a very good intro but as soon as the vocals brought in I couldn't help myself but giggle a little. It'd be better with some effects on the voice fading out maybe? Other than that I like the back track but not the vocals.

Lyrics are very poetic. I can feel a strong time Ian Curtis feel in general from the whole thing. You should try and find your own voice though! Get more into it, or fall even more into apathy!

Nice song, but I think you should work on your voice just a tad, it's not bad, just needs some work on this track. You sound like a drunk Nick Cave.

Not really my style of music but the production is actually really crisp. Everything sounds perfect for this type of song. I'd like to hear it as a finished song though. It seems a bit to repetitive to me, but a fan of the genre may think other wise

Nice track over all love your voice. Maybe you could try adding an organ to build the track even more. Try listening to Gabriel Bruce has a similar style to you.

Dope lyrics!!! Excellent. I'm a big fan of the second stanza and the gordian knot metaphor but the whole thing is just plain good. Keep it up!!!!

I like the mellow sound of the keyboard. It's a nice contrast to your rough and edgy voice. I have to admit, i caught myself trying to sing along. Very catchy. Looking forward to the final version!!
