Although he’s been busy developing his label Fumakilla (now ten years old!) and doing studio work with a number of other producers, it’s been some time since we saw the last proper Woody release. But the wait is over! Berlin-based Woody recently invited some new blood into his studio: Chilean labelmates (and Cadenza affiliates) Felipe Valenzuela and Dani Casarano. The results of their session easily break from the formulaic dancefloor cuts we’ve been hearing lately: “Woman” will seduce you gently at first, but by the time the groove builds up, she’ll have you completely captivated, a combination of techno energy, house chords and disco string accents. “Woman” is an instant classic for these springtime months, emanating pheromones into the air. This single-sided 12″ includes the original, nearly ten-minute, version, although you can expect some remixes from top-tier names later this year, and plenty more solid material as Fumakilla celebrates its tenth anniversary.
