Freddy Pimms aka Dropsteady Freddy has been dabbling with beat making and DJing for over 10 years. Freds usually found in his studio late at night with a sampler making beats and tapes, out digging for gems in record stores or behind the booth at bars, pubs, clubs, fields and festivals across the UK. Known for playing notoriously eclectic DJ sets whilst cutting & pasting his way through various sounds such as Hiphop, Funk, Beats, Breaks, Bass music, Reggae, House, D&B and whatever else is floating his boat at the time.

As a DJ Fred quickly gained props on the UK Circuit and on the dance floor, playing up and down the country as both a resident and headlining DJ at notorious club nights such as Ghetto Funk, Reegrooved, Jelly Jazz, Beatz & Bobz, Rinceout, Hong Kong Ping Pong, Riddim Fruit, Funk From The Trunk, Jam The Channel, The Deep End, Caberet Voltair, Magic Hatstand, Hold It Down and Full Melt to name drop a few. He's also shared the stage with many heavyweight DJs and Top name acts which we won't list here, and has spent many many years rocking the UKs top festivals such as Glastonbury, Boom town fair, Beautiful days, Aeon and Wattsfest.

As well as being a keen DJ with a passion for all styles of music, over the past few years Fred has hosted his own radio shows on top stations such as Ninja Tunes Solid Steel, Exeters Phonic FM and the award winning South West Underground.

When it comes to beat making and production Fred is as eclectic as he is with his DJ sets, crossing genres from Funk to Breakbeat, Bass music to Reggae right through to house and disco, but always staying true to his roots and on the steady vibe of Hiphop music. His bootlegs and remixes have gained world wide recognition and a rep to get any dance floor rocking, and have found there way in to the homes, hearts and record boxes of many top DJ acts and radio presenters. Armed with a sampler, a synth, an impressive stack of records and a pair of Turntables, along with dozens of ideas and a keen ear, Freds cleaver use of samples, fat intricate drums, fresh cuts and heavy bass lines have given him his own signature sound and style which has earned him respect as a "Talented Beatmaker to watch out for" - Cut La Vis.
