6blocc - Digits - Kraftwerk's 'Numbers' get a serious editing. Printed on on the label is "Ups to Karl, Ralf, Florian and Juan" juan referring to juan Atkins as the other side to this is a re-editied version of Cybotron's 'Clear', called 'Creal'

@frenchbloke: It's practically dubstep. I remember this coming out because of the "ups to..." bit more than the track itself.

Beaumont Hannant - Mind Colours. This reminds me of Bear McCreary's Battlestar Galactica theme for some reason. Or should that be the other way around? From the 1994 album Texturology

Kid Congo Powers - Is This What Heaven's Really Like ? Now, this isn't the former Cramps / Bad Seed and Gun Club guitarist. This is from Yorkshire. Or Lancashire. Features a great plodding bass and wonderful use of screaming.

Roughly from 1980 / 1981 it's from the same Leeds Poly that brought the world Soft Cell, Fad Gadget and Scritti Politti to name a few.

Oppenheimer Analysis - The Devil's Dancers (Come With Us) from their demo tape from 1982 ( hence the super fidelity ), the track was re-released as a 7" a few years back that sold out alarmingly quickly. more interesting is Andy Oppenheimer's background - "Andy Oppenheimer is an expert on weapons of mass destruction. He also writes and performs with Martin Lloyd as Oppenheimer Analysis.

His earlier scientific work influenced the songs written and recorded with Martin in the early 1980s at the height of the electronic music wave - and the Cold War. His lyrics are concerned with betrayal, devotion, secrecy, suppressed love, the scientist's dilemma, paranoia and war - Dance Music For The Atomic Age.
His articles on nuclear, biological and chemical weapons can be found on the Internet." not many bands can boast that.

Erkki Kurennieme - Improvisaatio (1969, 5-20) quite possibly the point of origin for the early releases on Sähkö recordings. Finnish electronics. There is a section that is eerily reminiscent of the intro from 'Geisha Boys and Temple Girls' by Heaven 17. Martyn Ware of Heaven 17 has said "...it was me playing a random note (by chord) generator on my Roland JP4 whilst changing the arpeggiator speed ‘live’ to give it that rubato feel." @frenchbloke: One of my all time faves. Hypno Love copied it a few years ago. Not bad, still not close to this version.

Dave Ball - Bellpaper Music - a demo recording from one half of Soft Cell recorded very early on or just before they formed. you can hear hints of what was to come, noteably 'L.O.V.E Feelings'

Heaven 17 - Temptation (original demo) - controversial as folk swear that the music was done at least a week before the Sight and Sound album came out. Contains the original demo vocals, possibly. Either way, it's great.
