About

i discovered electronic music via laurie andersons "o superman". heard rave & hardcore in 1991 on pirate radio in london on yearly visits to dad. learned about the greater context of techno, house and electronica with brother-from-different-mother-to-this-day thom nagy, eventually falling deeply in love with all things weird, energetic and electronic. spent 1994-2008 playing and producing jungle, drumandbass, breaks & ukgarage, mainly in basel but also in barcelona (hello baby G) berlin (hello feed, dominik & bassdee) and tallinn (hello to-sha&l.eazy). re-discovered house & techno around 1999 via ibiza, bali, berlin and basel, seriously playing it out again via a four-year-summer-stint in bali from 2001-2004 (hello ucha, pino, benno, ivan, fadi & the twins).
i release on gelbes billett musik, sometimes solo, sometimes in various combinations with thom nagy and dario rohrbach. due to my pursuit of academic endeavours, tracks may be finished years after first kickdrum was set, losing their freshness in the process and getting delayed even further by constant, often unsatisfying updates. lots of potential for improvement here. i increasingly love timeless music instead of sound-of-the-moment-stuff, but am known to enjoy the excitement of the latter with excess too. former and current dj- and producer-monikers include: mad marshal (drumandbass), sgt. risk (ambient, chillout, dub, house, techno, breaks, uk garage, dubstep, drumandbass, doomcore, german carnival-tunes, often as electric zombies with homies pol akkola & paul briener), nik frankenberg (techno, house and whatever special item might present itself to break things up a bit), dj anonymous (weddings, birthdays, company hair-down-events, campus-raves, funerals or all things which you either do for silly cash or as a favour or both). i earn "real" money as music editor for local FM station radio x and nightlife-hack for a local newspaper.
