Alternative E-D-M musician, DJ and rebel scum. Biography in a nutshell, as follows; I have a BA in Communications and spent six years in the Radio business before being sidetracked and betrayed by my "biological's" (long story of familial dysfunction) causing me to re-think my path, career and focus. I have been mixing, collecting and playing music for what seems most of my life. To be totally honest, right now all my re-mixes are done on Virtual DJ, using the 12 channel sampler and record live. This is intmidating to some and I have been berated for not totally using software and the like. I am old and new school, yet people would never know listening to the end results unless I didn't out myself. Ya think that stopped Run-DMC or the The Chemical Brothers from making cutting edge sounds that they love. It all started by sampling records. No sample packs, no step recording and no stutter editting software. Drum beats had to be programmed note for note and measure by measure. People need to stop "hating" for the sake of it, it's a weakness. Totally, my opinion and in no way would oppress others who think differently. Strength. In the future, as I am developing my own tracks and sounds, I have spent the last few years focusing mainly on re-mixing music, until I can roll some originals off of the assembly line. For legal reasons, I have to say, my involvement with re-mixing songs is not for profit and I do not intend to financially gain from anyones work or tarnish their art.... My past is steeped in live DJ-ing and I need the re-mixes to add to live sets. I prefer clubmixes, where the beats rarely stop and love bass drops. Breaks are the times people head for the bar and tables. My re-mix marketing philiosophy is this; I, for now, prefer to keep the whole source song the same as when originally recorded so listeners know the structure of the song for singing along purposes. I change them enough with bass tricks and multiple groove lines at pivitol sequences in the song. Each verse and chorus may have a different beat line or phrase assigned to it. Setting it apart from the original while keeping it similar. Having a very good ear for what I call "jazz ideas" or improvisational qualities when it comes to grooves and tune choice comes in handy when producing. I am mostly a performer and DJ. Using the computer as a musical instrument; playing, recording and mixing the samples live. It reminds me of playing out and that is what the remixes are for, my eventual live sets. People here in the States have a tendency to be more patient with music they are familiar with, so I just take the cute little pop "ditties", remove the bass lines and add my own, then shove them in my mixes.
