Dublin-born Paul Whelan established himself during the first wave of the Breaks scene at the end of the 90s through his shows on Breaks FM and London pirate radio; his DJing joined the dots between the burgeoning movements of Nu-skool Breaks and UK Garage (proto Dubstep) emanating from London at the time.
Paul was one half of Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT), a live/studio act signed to the genre-defining label Carbon Records. Along with his ECT compadre, Caspar Kedros (of Headrillaz fame), their tracks regularly filled the record boxes of DJ contemporaries within the Breaks scene, including the likes of Freq Nasty and the Plump DJs. In the early 2000s Paul progressed to making Tech-house with his releases on seminal UK label Eukatech.
Paul's path crossed Peter's in early 2012 while both were DJing in Berlin. He was so inspired by the meeting he immediately offered to collaborate with his new partner in crime and fellow foolboy, Leopold.
Peter de Havilland is a Canadian/British/Scottish/Irish artist whose musical background is as varied as his cultural identity.
At 16 his debut album Bois De Boulogne was released by Virgin Records and heralded successful 7 year relationship between label and artist. However, it was under the mentorship of Boy George and Jeremy Healy that Peter learnt his craft. Ezee Posee’s 'Everything Begins With an E' followed soon after.
Peter's repuation as a keyboard player/writer-producer earned him credits with Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles and Jimmy Polo to name just three. Somewhere in all this Peter was a part of the original D:ream crew with Peter Cunnah and Jamie Petrie, but left prior to the band’s mainstream success owing to contractual obligations elsewhere. At one point during this period his collaborative partnerships were generating a 12-inch vinyl EP release per week for labels such as 23rd Pricinct, E St, Blanco y Negro and 808 State’s label.
In the past decade Peter’s credits include: Jeff Buckley, The Wildhearts, Oasis, Katie Melua, The Mau-Maus, Lipstick Melodies, Pete Doherty, Baby Shambles, Plump DJs and Leona Lewis. His official remixes include: Madonna, Spice Girls, Placebo, Stereophonics, Gossip, The Knives, Tool and The Horrors.
Peter began DJing several years ago at Bungelow 8, London. Since then he has spun in LA, Berlin, Vienna and Barcelona.
