What are the goals for your Five Years Abroad?
What do you want to accomplish?
Where do you want to be?
*Who* do you want to be?
Your vision will provide the answer to these questions, and it will help you build your strategy when you are deciding where in the world you want to live.
There are two important questions that you want to ask yourself in order to develop your vision:
- What have I always wanted to do?
- If I could live anywhere (real or fictional place), where would it be?
Once you have the answers to these questions, you can begin the process of finding places that you can live that will help you achieve these goals.
Don't worry about whether you are picking the "right" goals, or if they are impractical, or if other people wouldn't approve of them. If you want them, then they are the right goals for you.
And don't worry about whether you have "enough" goals to fill your entire Five Years Abroad. Once you've gotten out there and begun to Discover Yourself by Discovering the World, your goals will probably change — and they will likely change several times before you finish your Five Years Abroad!
What's most important is to develop enough of a vision and enough of a strategy that you can take the first step and begin.
