2014 marks the 30th anniversary of illustrious London-based indie label Fire Records. From the mid ‘80s until the mid ‘90s, Fire was on the cutting edge of indiedom, gaining a reputation for inspired and often maverick A&R. It released records regardless of prevailing musical trends and genres, and soon became firmly established as an important "signpost" label, widely regarded as one of the most fertile breeding grounds for new music. The mid 90s saw Fire a roster that boasted some of the most influential UK and US bands of the decade, including Teenage Fanclub, the Pastels, Spacemen 3, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Lemonheads and Pulp. The mid noughties saw a rejuvenated take on Fire’s own considerable legacy, welcoming some of the most revered names in alternative music in to its fold with Guided By Voices, Giant Sand, Mission Of Burma, Pere Ubu, Half Japanese and The Chills.
Fire remains primed to champion the careers of new artists, with exciting talents such as Scott & Charlene's Wedding, Blank Realm, Josephine Foster, Wooden Wand, Las Kellies, Opossom, Lower Plenty, Surf City, Hospitality, Scraps, Virginia Wing and more
