: FILIPPO CALVENZI Biography
The first encounter with House music took place in Ibiza, all the way back to1991 .Professionally started his career in Milan back in 1994, performing for all the main clubs of the city. In 1996 he moved to London, where he spent the following 3 years tracking and scouting the unstoppable river of unreleased and unlicensed vinyl flowing in soho's veins at the time, providing italian records' shops and Djs with the newest sounds from music's Meccah.
In the late nineties he's strongly influenced by producers as Ashley Beedle, MAW, Mood 2 Swing, Murk, Kevin Chandler and Cevin Fisher , switching from black soulful garage, to house music's dubber side.
It's around year 2000 that the ongoing project "la Maison", one of the craziest one night event held in milan, take a form. In partnership with the notorious Gasoline disco club at the beginning, in self adapted unstructured locations at present days ,the party has gathered a consistent number of loyal followers through the years. Filippo is here co-organizer and dj resident.
Since 2003 he's permanently residing on Koh Phangan, Thailand , home of the world famous full moon party. Place naturally related with different musical genres, the ravishing small island has been for the past 20 years the meccah for partying in Asia. Thank to the passionate contribution of few unresting locals, the island is now a flourishing new land for the minimal techno circus.
Co-resident dj for Sramanora waterfall party, and guest on all phangan's main events such as Backyard full moon after party, he's now blending a very conservative and traditional housey component with fresh ,groovy and uplifting techno influences . With the advent of the digital era , the beloved technics turntables have been replaced by a 4 decks traktor platform, opening a new phase of creative improvements on his sound.The artists supported are a mixture of italians sensations such as Minicoolboyz, Marco Carola, Rino Cerrone, Dandy & Ugo and internationals, such as Adam Beyer, Egbert , Joseph Capriati , David Laake and Koen Groenveld.
