I recorded this after learning how to negotiate the interface and read the manual a bit... Essentially, this is a short sequence set up on the machine itself, then I was tweaking the four oscillators in real time and other parameters, of which there are many. The more straightforward note elements (an electric piano preset, I think) were recorded simultaneously with a Korg MicroXL. The evolver is capable of fantastic and more conventional synthesizer lines too - monophonic and controlled via a midi keyboard - but one of the great luxuries of a synth one can adjust in real time is that everything can be live and responsive and interactive, which is quite a different process than multi-tracking.
P.S. long into the piece, there's a melodic fragment that reminds me slightly of the theme in Debussy's 'Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun'. If you notice this, note that it was created by adjusting one of the oscillator pitches on the Evolver itself and was not played on a keyboard.
