About

Fernando Gros is a Singapore based guitarist, composer and music technologist. He runs a small, independent audio workshop called SoundWallah; offering arranging, editing, MIDI orchestration, mixing and sound design services. His music brings afresh blend of Asian and Latin American musical perspectives to Jazz and Funk music.

Fernando is known as a serious, creative and original guitarist. He benefitted early on in his career from lessons with Jim Kelly, Carl Orr and Mal Eastick. More recently he has completed Master Certificates in both Guitar and Arranging, as well as a Specialist Certificate in Orchestrating and Producing Music for Films and Games from Berklee College of Music’s extension programme, BerkleeMusic.

Fernando is an Apple Certified Logic Studio Master Pro and beta-tester for a number of leading audio software programmes. Moreover, he has built and designed guitar amplifiers and well-reviewed guitar effects pedals.

Fernando plays Callaham, Maton, Ibanez, Godin and Fender guitars, Carr amplifiers and Banzai, BJFe, Foxrox, Jacques, Keeley, Maxon, T-Rex and Zvex effects pedals. His studio Mac Pro runs Siblielius, Reason and Logic Pro with Kontakt (including East West, Chris Hein, Sonic Couture and Vir2 sample libraries), Audio Damage, Celemony Melodyne, SSL, Toontrack and Universal Audio plugins.
