At first, music was just something that DJ Fei Long finds pleasant and annoying at the same time while growing up. It was pleasant because there's always something special listening to a good song that he could connect with. It was annoying at the same time, because he was forced to play the piano and hated the long hours he had to endure.
Fortunately at age 16, Fei Long decided to give music another chance by picking up the guitar after being inspired by music from Jimmy Hendrix, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and U2. He found moderate success after forming a rock band playing cover songs. Throughout this time he was also very open to other genres of music including classical music and Hip Hop. However, that all changed when he discovered the world of Electronic dance music.
Inspired by the limitless combination of sounds one can generate from a synthesiser and the flexibility of producing music on his computer, he began to experiment and worked hard carefully crafting his originals. He always loved music that sounded raw and powerful but with beautiful melodies. So out of all the various types of House music, he decided to focus on Electro House as he mentioned, “I love the raw energy and punchy kicks of Electro House. When the drop comes, the crowds go wild and I just loose myself in hours of mad fun!”
Spending countless hours with his favourite software Ableton Live, Fei Long produces his own originals and remixed many artists tracks including Adele, Stafford Brothers, Lil Wayne and Avicii. His single “Body Heat” was picked up by Electro House guru, Utku S’s label Tapestop Music with various remixes by artists such as Ugly Disco, Titanoz and Utku S himself. He had also DJed at various venues in Western Australia such as the Villa nightclub. He loves having a good time and entertaining the crowd with his blend of energetic music.
So what’s next for DJ Fei Long? More tunes in the making, remixes and gigs to look out for. 2013 is looking very bright indeed for this Electro House artist!
