From roots of messing about on piano,and with Fruity Loops and Acid, Matt McLean’s music has developed over several years into a love affair of drum and bass and electronica music, with influences varying from psy and melodic progressive trance, fast soul, tech and future sound scapes.

With a live music background including a stint in instrumental funk outfit Flesh Of The Lotus (2005-2006); live performances on the SBS Movie Show broadcast nationally, performing as the house band for the duration of the 2005 Revelations Film Festival, as well as taking out State Runner Up in the National Campus Bands competition in 2005, Matt's experiences lead him to take a break from the live scene, and after finishing a course at WAAPA in 2007, to strongly consider giving away music entirely.

After an extended break, Matt began to reconnect and create music that he loved, experimenting andlearning how to use his studio and synthesisers. The result is feeding | ear – an anything goes mash of drum and bass, psytrance, electro house, ambient and experimental electronics, with a focus on melody and moving, evolving arrangements.
Recent accolades include a WAM Song of The Year 2009 Electronica/Dance nomination for his first live drum and bass track – feeding | ear – Empire, one WAM Song of the Year Nomination for 2010, for an experimental song – Release, as well as winning the WAM Electronic/Dance Song of The Year 2010 for 'Into Another'.

His film score work has received recognition, winning the RevelationRevel8 Film Festival Best Music Score 2010.

Matt also hosts a weekly radio show of the best new dance music across electro, progressive, dubstep and drum and bass from local, national and international artists across Western Australian regional commercial radio, reaching over 200,000 potential listeners, with a focus on supporting up and coming artists as well as playing the cream of the crop.
