About

So far, these are just experiments as I develop my mathematical theories and intuitions about harmony. My goal is to make extended, engaging pieces of music, so stay tuned.

Have you checked out freesound.org ? There are some good samples there. You should split this clip up into the seperate samples and post them there.

@OneAmbient4: It's sending MIDI data, which is being interpreted by Csound on my computer. The description I have on this piece gives some details.

@OneAmbient4: The poor recording setup was more a result of having worked on this for weeks before finally getting something recordable at 3am -- I was too anxious to get something online to spend another hour debugging my recording setup. Audacity is certainly an option; I have it set up, but haven't used it much.

@OneAmbient4: They're standard Boehm-style Western flutes -- pretty much the cheapest ones I could get off of eBay for their respective sizes.

Thanks for this, and all your remixes of political activists. I know about Snowden's revelations, but never actually listened to him until now. I'm going to share this on Facebook, and more people who couldn't be bothered to listen to Snowden speak will hear his message because of your work.

There's something about the tone of your voice that lends itself well to the backwards treatment here -- spooky and beautiful. (I'm going to have to figure out how to reverse this and find out what you're really singing.)

@jaykzo: I considered it more of an invitation to remix, especially given the license. Yeah, this is a simple track, but many things could be done with it.

@level frequences: Thanks! I'm working on a way to store the MIDI performance data to a file while I play so I can go back and render it in non-realtime, which should result in better quality. This particular performance, though, is lost to the æther.

@Sylvia Sunhuimei Xia: Thanks! It was "live", in the sense that I went with one take after I started recording. Of course I had been playing with the setup for a while by then, so had a little bit of a clue what I was doing. I didn't have any sort of audience, though -- maybe one day (although that's a scary thought for me now).

Well, thanks, at least, for keeping the old Soundcloud interface available. I could go on at length about what I don't like about the new interface and what would be valuable to me, but I guess not being a paying customer means I don't count for much.
