Korrupt 's review of -VGB 's 'Nox':
"Nox has a simple sounding intro through VGB’s use of a repetitive and returning pad – I’m really feeling the hi-hat that sets the pace. There’s a nice mystical vibe left behind, with the listener not knowing what to expect at the first drop. The kick sounds more poppy than pounding, but it combines well with the snare above in the mix.
"The drop is heavy, the low-end sounds very low and makes my chest shake – nicely done VGB. There’s great control over the mix as well, I love how the patterns change and slowly fade away. It’s interesting how more ambient background sounds start to appear – creating a mysterious atmosphere. The drum patterns are on-point, it’s great how the snare doesn’t hit on the traditional location in the bar – which also makes it an interesting track to mix with. The percussion is straight as well, there are nice clear elements present within the mix, all of which fit nicely with the other elements present.
"The break sounds interesting, the repetitive pad fading out while you get sucked back into the mix – definitely a nice move. The second drop is hard, new elements fade back in that don’t necessarily overrule the rest of them. New percussion comes in and sets the pace towards the end of the track.
"I suddenly hear this tribal vibe coming off, which I actually missed at the beginning of the track! Other than that, this is an amazing production by VGB from the Netherlands, a mysterious track containing a nice tribal vibe – watch out for this fellow!"
Getting weighty with this one from Papendrecht's -VGB. 320 download so you should be fine grabbing this one - you'd be silly not to! Definitely one that'll destroy the dance...
