Korrupt 's review of DT & Arkwright's 'Ishtar':
“The energy coming off the layered pad that emerges out of nowhere is something to behold. The reverb applied along with some percussive elements really widens the sound coming off the mix – a great implementation! As the pad slowly disappears, the first hard-hitting drum patterns arrive – watch out for the immense low-end as well!
“A wonderful diversity of samples flow around in this production: sounding vibrant and peaceful, yet very intriguing and armed with the threat of possible escalation. DT & Arkwright implement a vocal sample combined with piano keys, making the tune sound quite innocent – but it’s far from it. The low-end leaves a serious impression behind, as the two producers implement a great number of different variations on the patterning.
“The break builds to an emotional climax, where the keys come forward to leave an intense impression on the listener. The keys vanish as the second drop will hits the listener. New low-end patterns appear that could easily set any dance on fire!
“The little growls sitting in the mid-range combine with the other intriguing samples and really finish off ‘Ishtar’. The way the tune finishes is just mesmerising; with the intensity slowly fading away...”
