Korrupt 's review of Clifford Junior 's 'Counteract':
"Cliff Ord uses panning to the hi-hats involved in this mix, helping the male vocalas tell an amazing story – listen to the lines, something for the listener to get their mind lost in.
"The dub delay effect used on certain elements sounds quality, with nice implementation straight before the first drop. The kick pounds nicely, working together with the deep and weighty low-end flowing underneath. The dancehall vibe coming off the tune is well constructed, completing the vibe that the listener hears. The pad repeating up the top of the mix evolves slowly, setting the mood of the tune – without it the tune wouldn't have half as much power.
"The break is deep, with the sub-patterns adding to a climatic build up. The second drop is well composed with more percussive elements come into the mix, showing progression along the way. More delayed effects are added on to specific elements and the only thing that is left are the pads along with the low-end and the wisdom from the man speaking. Serious knowledge and weight layered upon the listener's ears, use it wisely!"
Something a bit different for your Wednesday! Big shout to Clifford Junior for this one, too good. For anyone asking about the sample, see here:
