About

Fate Lions grew out of the many hours Jason Manriquez spent commuting to and from work in a car without CD/Cassette/Radio. In the absence of other peoples music he began humming out his own tunes and melodies. Song ideas that he would struggle to remember long enough to make it home and put lyrics to them. Those that survived this process were then played out to anyone that would listen.

Many of those songs would appear on Fate Lions 2009 self released CD 'Good Enough for You'. Produced by Salim Nourallah and recorded at Pleasantry Lane. The album shimmers and sparkles with Fate Lions particular brand of melodramatic, jangle pop. Marrying familiar song structures with new and strange lyrical excursions and motifs.

Culling a number of outstanding talents from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Jason Manriquez has assembled a band made to order for communicating the Fate Lions sound. Josh Hoover on drums, percussion and cymbals along with multi-instrumentalists Drew Gabbert and Jerko Dabelic.

Fate Lions have played with a number of notable regional and national touring bands and performers including Spindrift, Deadman, Ian Moore, Calhoun, Damien Jurado, Viva Voce, Sahara Smith and The Dig.

Fate Lions are currently working on a series of 7" singles showcasing the bands love of the format. They also enjoy bicycle riding, comic books, Kurt Russell, long walks and those tiny astrological scrolls you can sometimes find at the grocery check out.
