ESKA
As a vocalist, ESKA's legendary virtuosity has attracted the attentions of a host of acclaimed artists – the likes of Tony Allen and David Sylvian, to name a few. Her vocal arrangements have credits on 3 Mercury-nominated albums that range from hip-hop to indie to jazz. For her solo project, she chose to work alongside one of her most recent collaborators, artist-producer Matthew Herbert. As a conductor, ESKA's has lead a 150-voice choir for Bobby McFerrin and is Music Director for Goldsmiths (London University) Vocal Ensemble who have performed with Matthew Herbert’s Big Band and in her debut full length performance of English Skies at Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall on Monday 7th May 2012.

Now, ESKA has embarked on a very personal music journey fusing myriad elements from her eclectic musical upbringing that include classical and folk. 'ENGLISH SKIES' encompasses more than simply an album, it represents a new body of work that showcases ESKA for the first time as an artist in her own right, as composer, arranger and performer. However, the vision of 'ENGLISH SKIES' goes beyond the scope of documentation as an album, it is also to be realised as a staged/theatrical performance, solo and live band performance and a songbook.
