Errorist is the musical alias of Miha Milek, a 29-year-old Slovenian biochemist-by-day and musician-by-night. In his compositions both acoustic and electronic instruments such as kalimba, saxonette, glockenspiel, melodica, various synthesizers and effects form the building blocks of unique musical soundscapes. During the recording process, errors in pitch, rhythm and sound are not discarded but used as sources of inspiration for new harmonies and arrangements. Elements of dark ambient, improvisation, noise and lo-fi aesthetics are combined with psychedelic melodies, glitchy beats and home-made percussion to produce something rather strange, perhaps even dissonant and ‘wrong’ to some ears but nevertheless essentially melodic.
His long-player debut ‘Hovercraft’ released in early 2010 on Slovenia’s experimental imprint Rx:Tx consists of waves of abstract cinematic recordings, psychedelic jazz and mutant ambient electronica.
