About
Erik is a different kind of composer. He is known for very dramatic and emotionally charged themes fueled by a diverse background as sound designer and electronic, industrial and synth music artist. Erik compose dynamic music for games, created with a keen sense for interaction and human reaction as well as high end production music for film, TV and media.
Running his own music and sample library imprint, Brickwall Audio, Erik’s music is featured on television and cinematic trailers and the sample libraries produced by him are used in a number of big budget productions of film and games trailers and full soundtracks. Brickwall Audio is published in 25+ countries and the libraries licensed to (among others) Music & Images, CDM Music, Songs To Your Eyes, Apollo Music, Beatbox Music and Sonic Librarian. Erik is also regularly working with audio tools and sample library developers writing audio demos and conducting beta testing, research and development.
Erik’s road into music started at the age of 13 when introduced to simple music recording and editing software. Spending long days in the local music shops learning about synthesizers, sound design, mixing and mastering, Erik is very much a DIY musician. Any object can be turned into a musical instrument and any sound can be turned into weird and wonderful experiments.
It was under Erik’s artist alias Lacuna Origin, a melting pot of hard beats and synth’s, combined with cinematic influences and soundtrack-style arrangements, that Erik found his love for great evolving sound scapes and lush epic orchestration married to cutting edge electronics.
Erik produced a dozen singles and albums published by (among others) Blutonium Media, Tunnel Records, EMI Music, Sony BMG Music and premium label Ministry Of Sound, as well as a number of live shows. One of the biggest performances took place at a festival in Germany with over 25,000 visitors. The sound of Lacuna Origin is decidedly dark and contains influences by favorite artists and bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Laibach and Rammstein.
