Passionate about music since he has had ears, Eric Stark grew up listening to some of the first Techno sounds. Listening to Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Laurent Garnier, Kevin Saunderson, and others, he was desperate to discover other Techno tracks. This curiosity pushed him to start his vinyl collection, which he listened to on his one turntable. As his interest in music grew so did his music collection and he finally treated himself to a pair of Technics.
Eager to do more than just listen to music, Eric Stark decided to share his passion; he wanted to mix different tracks together and make people dance. Initially he started DJing in bars and clubs in his hometown, Montelimar; he then moved to Montpellier and played in larger and more well-known bars and clubs, such as Villa Rouge. After four years of DJing in clubs in the South of France, and having forced his style of music onto people and clubs who were not necessarily open to underground sounds, Eric Stark arrived in Paris.
Very quickly, he imposed his style and he soon began DJing in some of the biggest clubs in the capital: REX Club, Batofar, Paris Paris, Social Club, etc. He became known for his energetic Minimal & Tech-House sets and has been invited to DJ in the UK, Belgium, and around France. In August 2009 and 2011, he was asked to play at Kazantip Festival in the Ukraine, where he DJed alongside Greg Parker, Marco Resman, Jay Haze, DJ Prinz and F.E.X.
Living in London since August 2009, Eric Stark has been making waves with his energy-fuelled Dj sets combining the funky side of tech-house with a dash of deep and grooviness thrown into it. He has residencies in some prestigious places like Supperclub, Aqua, Shochu Lounge and 8 Club. In December 2010 he launched the first Aqua compilation “Noches de Nueva” with Dj Moodz. Eric Stark is also coming back to Paris sometimes to play with his collective SHAKEDJS, with which he exploits and shares his know-how.
