This song has grown on me immensely as well. I agree that it probably is not a preview of what the rest of the album will sound like. This reminds me of when Honest Goodbye, which was the first track that was released from New Maps of Hell, came out. It was really poppy and not like BR's previous material. Was the rest of New Maps of Hell amazing? Hell yeah. The other song this reminds me of is the second track from the Daredevils' disc. Does anyone else hear this?

Yes! Please do. I can't blame you for not coming to El Paso, its a sh*thole, but at least someplace in New Mexico you're fond of. I'll make the drive.

@2hamsters1couple: Yeah, I hear ya Emily. I was about to go cursing up a storm and rant about how I'll never buy this album if it sounds like this track, but it started growing on me... Like a fungus I guess. LOL. As another guy pointed out, it's like Drunk Sincerity. Maybe it will find its place on the album when heard in context.

@user9957948: You have a point. Drunk Sincerity definitely took time to grow on me.

@ashleylupine: I agree, but I have found the last few albums to have one or possibly even two tracks that fit that description with the rest of the album being awesome. Honest Goodbye, Drunk Sincerity, Broken, Boot Stamping on a Human Face Forever... The thing is, I ended up liking all of those songs once heard in the context of the whole album. The contrast of the other songs makes these stand out and somehow sound better. Just my two cents

I love any and all BR music. Any band that can inspire intelligent thoughts through lyrics that carry depth and weight have me behind them all the way. So much of todays music is about "bling" and "rollin on dubs", never talking about real issues and the progress of the human race. I have studied, and continue to study, evolution, zoology, and molecular biology all because of BR influence in my life. Keep it up guys. Oh, and 2hamsters1couple FUCK YOU BOTH!!!

All I asked for from this album was a Hetson solo like from "What Can You Do"... and this seems to hit that mark.

@THERE-IS-NO-GOD!: Seriously, you're arguing over the internet. Get something better to do. The song is good. Sure; it's a bit different from their old stuff, but if they kept producing the same music over and over it'd get boring. They're taking the Muse approach and changing their approach slightly. It might not be quite as amazing as their older music, but it's still amazing. And also; I'd like to see you cover any of BR's music; it'd probably be quite funny.

I think it sounds brilliant as expected. Heard three songs of The Dissent of Man so far and loved them all.
