One of the most recognizable pieces in Classical Music, Beethoven’s 9th symphony is widely regarded as one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. Ode to Joy is also the first work of a major composer to feature vocals, making it a choral symphony. The lyrics were taken from the poem “Ode to Joy”.
