Music created for Plasticene's "From a Fading Light." Opening May 11, 2010 at St. Paul's Cultural Center, in Chicago, "...an immersive and breathtaking promenade physical theater performance that travels through the entirety of a 100-year-old church in Wicker Park created by Chicago's pioneer physical theater company." Over the past fifteen years Plasticene creates original physical theater from the most plastic elements of theatrical creation: the body, objects, motion, light, and sound. My sonic resources for "Running into dreaming" are samples from my self-built instrument (the Springboard), an inductor and laptop, the church's piano (prepared), and Anna Friz's accordion (not heard in this excerpt). These were altered and regenerated through real-time spectral processing techniques and composed on Thursday, May 9.
