You wake up in an unfamiliar room where the walls constrict your every movement, panic fills ones perception as the claustrophobia sets in. This spoken room has only a sealed window for an exit. Jeez... Wtf?! This is some brilliant programming. Honestly, I was hoping the beat would smash in a bit harder. But I'm listening to this on one headphone at work... so that might have something to do with it.
- Temporary Motion on October 16, 2009 12:34
@AnodyneIndustries: agree both points. It's a sick arrangement and the kick could hit in more. But probably it's hard on this track because so much low frequency sounds are going on.
- Electro Mass on October 16, 2009 13:27
@Temporary Motion: Thats cool guys, well I have the head room to increase the kick, I have 2 layers gated to bring the mids of the kick up because there is some room there but it isn't quite present enough! gates and cut everything in the low end to keep that shit clean as possible.
- Temporary Motion on October 16, 2009 19:48
@Electro Mass: you indeed had the head room!! Nice!
-
@Electro Mass: AS A DJ AND AN AUDIO ENGINEER, I DO SAY CLEAN AS HELL,AND TIGHT COMPRESSION!
-
@MIND_UNIT: AND I CAN ALWAYS TURN THE BASS TO TUNE TO THE MIX,AND/OR TRACK PLAYING,ITS ALL IN THE BINS!!!!GOOD JOB AND KEEP EM BANGIN'!

This kind of reminds me of "Come on my Selector", Square Pusher. Only with less frantic beats.

I really love this part. This should come in sooner. That bassline at the beginning gets a bit repetitive. Maybe throw this part in earlier to break up the first section. Then bring the main bassline back in later.

Yeah like that. I like this variation of the main bassline a lot. It'd be a perfect transition back into the 1st.

I totally agree with you. This is the probably the most complex tune I've heard from you yet. I love the programming, but I'm not bonkers about the arrangement.

I'd like to hear some dutty double time jungle breaks edging in at the end of every 32 bar section or something like that, with shards of the dutty break amongst the beat you've already got going aswell. Good stuff.

Great stuff...a little bit like Bricolage stage Amon Tobin, but very good in its own right.
- Electro Mass on September 23, 2009 23:14
@Antitrope: I'm truly flattered, amon tobin is probably the main feed of inspiration.
