About
Electric Power Pole Records (e.p.p.r) is an Australian psytrance record label which has been in operation since 2004. The label was formed out of Electric Power Pole Productions, the events arm of the organisation which has been promoting outdoor and indoor events in the Sydney region since 2002. After a number of free compilation releases were handed out at Electric Power Pole events it was soon realised that the quality of the music being produced by the Sydney based artists involved with Electric Power Pole was at a stage fit for release to a wider international audience. Founded on the idea of promoting fledgling artists from Australia and around the world, the compilation ‘Location 2 hours from Sydney’ was released in August 2004.
After six more compilations (The Martin Fitzgerald File, Blackout, Borrowed Time,Noctopus, Tech Tales and Myriad Expressions) and three album releases (Third Drop Reflection - Realization, Hedonix - Order out of Chaos and Frechbax - Wolkenkratzer) along with our next release 'Vacuum Stalkers - Aelita' in January, 2012 and night compilation to follow in February, 2012 'The Flip Side', e.p.p.r is continuing its search for original, fresh sounding psychedelic, minimal and progressive trance.
The range of music we aim to release reflects the diversity you would expect to hear at an outdoor bush party. Music made to be heard echoing out through the trees of a lush forest, or pumping in a city night club.
We here at Electric Power Pole Records pride ourselves in being an accessible, grass roots organisation reaching out to a wider audience through quality music which we hope you enjoy.
Were also happy to announce that electric power pole dj Red Two will be based in Germany for an extended period from October 2010 and that Hedonix will also be spending time in Europe until February, 2012. A number of releases are planned in the forthcomming 12 months including a follow up to Tech Tales, the debut album by Australian artist Fracas plus the highly aniticipated second album by Hedonix' to name a few. So it definately is an exciting and very productive time for all associated with eppr.
We hope that you enjoy our music and thank you for your support in keeping us going over the last 8 years and hope that we can stick around for a very long time to come!
