The piano being late here really hurts the impact of the change. Anything we can do?

@Frank Wartinger: I'd like to add some overdubs to a few sections, like organ on both chorales, and maybe rhodes. actually, the chorales might be the only sections I'd want to overdub anything. I really want to kick up the impact and the space there.

as for changing the piano, maybe I could just mute it or something. I don't think shifting it would work. but I guess I'll figure that out after I do some overdubs. maybe it won't matter so much once there is a bunch of stuff that sounds amazing.

@Frank Wartinger: sweet. haha. thanks, dude. I'm pretty happy with it. I'm glad to hear that you think the kick and bass work well together- that was something I had to work on for some time. there were issues with the bass, because it was running into an 1176 and nobody was watching levels, so the compressor just sort of killed it, dynamically. luckily, logic has a great expander, and a little eq helped, too. and the kick drum sounded great in the kick and drum mics, but it was also bleeding into many other things, in a very fuzzy/poofy way, which was not pleasing. but I just high-passed some stuff, and it sounds alright now. I could definitely push the accordion entrance back- I've got a reverb for the accordion that I was using slightly, and I could automate it so that it's more verb at the beginning. good idea. the buildup: I cut out a couple measures, which sort of killed the buildup and the impact of the chorale. much better now. the vibe noises: I will cut them out. there were also some creaking noises from the bass's rubber stopper, some of which I have dealt with. I will mess with the intro some more, but I think it's a good start. anyway, thanks! :) I'm super psyched to be working on this again.

Wow.. Dude, this is amazing. The room sound is fantastic. The space and laid back feel of it all... wow. The string playing sounds better than I remembered, though the cello is a little forward around 3 min when it has the melody.

The kick and bass work really well together. It just feels real and tangible.

The accordion entrance around 5:30 could be pushed back into the mix farther. It sounds very dry and piercing, partially cause it's panned so hard to the left.

The build-up doesn't feel too long anymore... what did you do?

There are a lot of little noises, I think from the vibes. Most aren't during the vibes playing. think we should cut them, or just dampen them some? It takes a bit away from the epic quality.

END FEELS AWESOME! @!(%&!~ And I love what you did with the intro. If anything, it could fade in slower, or build slower. Beautiful!

(p.s. ignore the random "good jobs" I was just excited.)
