Efence/E-fence/Electric Fence/Chris Newey stumbled into music production in 1998 while needing drum tracks to go with his bedroom experimental/rock recordings. He came across a friend making hiphop beats with a Roland mc-303 and decided it would be perfect for his music since he also wanted expdate his keyboard(an old casiotone). After learning his sequencer he realised comprising creative ideas with other musicians was not needed with his new groove box. At that same time his influences changed to artists like Bill Lasswell, Dj shadow,Qbert, and other electronic music. He started attending raves to expand his knowlege of electronic music. He soon fell in love with all aspects of electronic dance music and his sound started to change with it. In the last 13 years his sound and setup have evolved.
