Edwin James first came to prominence in the public conscience in 2005. After years of producing in the studio he decided to share his sound with the public. Securing support slots for Abe Duque, The Hacker, James Holden, Legowelt and alongside Chymera at the Electric Picnic the momento began to happen.
2006 saw him release his acclaimed debut album "We are Electronix" which combined shimmering techno with old school electro against a backdrop of ambient sounds capes. The album has been described as "coming at you like Kraftwork jamming with Eno and Daft Punk" (I DJ Magazine). Exquisite production is to the core of his art, and deep, melodic, clinical sounds pervade this record. The album won the Best Album award 2006/07 at the Slick-DJ dance music awards.
In 2007/2008 Edwin started to get the thumbs up from Laurent Garnier, Oliver Huntemann, Dave Tarrida(Tresor), Ben Watt , Marc Romboy, Groove Armada and Nick Warren.
Early 2008 Edwin collaborated with Chelonis R Jones and released record Oliver Huntmann's Dance Electric and produced 2 tracks on Chelonis' 2nd Album due out on Mark Romboy's Systematic label in April 2009.
His "One Night In Barcelona" Track was 1 in the beatport Deep house charts and the Juno Techno charts in Feb 2008..
His record "Distant Sounds" on Orlando Voorn's "Night Vision" label SOLD OUT in 1 week and has been played out by Detroit Legend Derrick May from Detroit to Japan.
In 2009 Edwin will release/remix on Urban Torque, Night Vision Records, Rebirth (Italy)
