Hey man. Dunno if you'll reply to this or not but I just heard your "Damage" track and it has become one of my favorite dubstep tracks out there. I'm just starting out producing dubstep, messin' around with FL Studio and whatnot, and any information on how you made that track become into existence would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks bruv, means a lot. I actually started out on FL years ago. I would say the best way to learn is just to educate yourself on the basics. Read the forums, soak up knowledge. A great source is the production bible available on Dubstepforum.com.
Also, writing music requires patience and understanding. The best way to gain understanding about your synths and sound design is to just play around with them, trying different things and learning what each knob does. It won't sound very good at first but once you have a good grasp on what you are doing, you will be able to fine tune the sound and shape it how you like. I think that this can't be taught very easily though, it has to be learned and the only way to learn it is to do it, a lot.
Hope this helped.
