Earth and the Next Society - "Story in a Word" from the live album "Live Earth." Michael Shields originally wrote this track back in 1981 (making it the oldest track that appears on Live Earth) while with the Comets. The song was a well received by Comets fans back in that day and appeared on a number of College Radio bootleg and compilations. The song has been significantly reconfigured here but the message remains.

Story in a Word is an interesting contribution to the album in that I wrote some thirty years ago, 1981, while I was in the Comets. Its was a popular live track then on College Radio as a number of our performances circulated and become nearly as popular as the studio tracks we had out and were promotting. The message and inspiration of the song has always stayed with me and seemed fitting to redo with this band, Earth and the Next Society. Thanks for all the great feedback on it - Michael Shields
