@Halley's Call: i see what you did there!
@Cassie Stegman: I've never been! I'd like to visit.
@John Gottschalk: i was definitely channeling that a bit! I listened to the first two Coldplay records a lot when they came out. Still pretty fond of the first one.
@Jon Bash: thanks! i made a lot of them, but there are some soundfonts sampled from SNES games in there. Yoshi's Island, Terranigma, Super Mario World, A Link to the Past...
@orefinder: thanks! it's totally a nod to Koji Kondo. He has lots of rad little jazz endings in his non-looping tracks
@Sam Wolff 4: check the soundtrack! :3
@Monsinho: thanks! :) I built up a little repertoire of instruments for this soundtrack.
this is rad! all those ballooney and water drop sounds...
This tune is a winner :3
@s.e.t.h.: and yes, the cover was off :) glad you approve!
@s.e.t.h.: my complete and total ignorance about microphones :3 I just used what I have. Haha. But I did get the sense that the 57 would be better for the low end and the omni for capturing the detail of the piano and the room. I like the intimacy of it :)
This is fantastic. It's like all the best qualities of DKC and SMRPG wrapped up in a neat little bow
@s.e.t.h.: it's the felt between the hammers and the strings. On the higher notes, the felt tends to disperse the focal point of attack across multiple notes, adding a bit of discordant shimmer. I dig it personally :)
@Jacob Haslam: thx!
@Josh Whelchel: thanks Josh :)
@pogomix: It's in Escape Goat 2!
@Sean_Hogan: word! :)
@Jaoreir: thanks! it's the right channel slowly moving in and out of phase with the left, from 0 to ~1500ms
@Aurawake: thanks! I've been messing with Synplant. You can get each of the 12 notes to make a slightly different, but genetically related sound. It's a bizarre synth in the best way possible.
@pogomix: the piano has felt over the hammers, and I pitch shifted the recording up an octave and mixed it in :)
@Ben Warfield: +1 defense, ear slot
@Martin Kvalø: :-D i love ornamentations
@toiletsnakes: i have a life, you know! X-D
@EDDO2001: it's been brought to my attention that this song coincidentally sounds a little bit like 'Satellite Anthem Icarus' by Boards of Canada, maybe you're thinking of that?
@user228400552: Cool! I like Danger.
@Disasterpeace: but clearly many folks missed it
Love that steel drum sample, where is it from?
Really nice palette
Good god, that drop in is radical!
A lovely collage you've got going here!
This is gorgeous.
@mojilove: gotta try that!
@stimpyrules: :) awesome!
@Josh Whelchel: whateva! whateva! i do what i want!
@dimensionbomb: Hadn't heard this but I like Hisaishi-san's work on the Ghibli Movies
