Andy Galindo, better known as, Dunny TX, was born on October 19, 1989 in a small town in West Texas: Dumas, TX. Almost 10 years later, Dunny's family moved a few hours north to Guymon, Oklahoma. Both towns were fairly small with each having a population of less than 15,000. Given its size, Guymon didn't have much of a live music scene, but music, in general, played a tremendous role in providing the youth a chance for self-expression. Music wasn't just a simple pleasure, it was freedom. Music was a chance to slip away.
Radio waves blasted more country music than any other genre. But even with a distinct disadvantage in airplay, Hip Hop made its way to Dunny's ears and the fire was lit. By the time he graduated from Guymon High School in 2008, Dunny was already working on creating his own brand of beats that covered both R&B and Hip Hop and had been doing so for 2 years.
He started rapping and singing over his own beats thanks to a few friends who provided just the right amount of encouragement. Alongside his friends, they began recording tracks and performing under the name 3CR, or 3rd Coast Rydas. The crew consisted of B-Carter, Tipp, Teezy and Dunny TX.
For nearly 3 years, 3CR played local shows and continued making “homebrew” music. In late 2008, however, Dunny decided he wanted to improve his craft. He moved to Austin, TX to pursue his music career.
Currently, Dunny is currently under the Playamade Ent. roster., an independent record label based in Dallas, TX. He's a Singer/Rapper/Songwriter and does all of the engineering.
