This was the first of 3 dunkie songs recorded @ The Theatr Soar in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales on 10th August 2013. The session was recorded as a live stripped back acoustic performance in the vein of the Abbey Road style recordings. The video was filmed by the people behind The Soar Sessions with the aim to promote this beautiful venue (have a look at their video), this is a converted sounding recording of the performance. The lyrics are as follows; enjoy!

I’m scraping the floor and kicking the door
I’m feeling awful, can’t wait to be home
My Mother has taken me miles and left me with the dog
I think I have the best end of the deal

I am a strong person, but every now and then I also need someone to take my hand
The rhapsody is coming; I guess you just have to... suspend disbelief

The walrus will hide its face from you
Don’t forget this tonight as I try to peel an orange or two
I’m so very glad you left me for miles
From the ridiculous to the sublime

I still wish you were here all of the time I miss you just playing the fool
Thank you for reminding me that I’ve offended those that don’t know the rules

I am a strong person, but every now and then I also need someone to take my hand
The rhapsody is coming; I guess you just have to... suspend disbelief
Still kicking the door and scraping the floor
Feeling low, there’s no place like home

So very glad you left me for miles
From the ridiculous to the sublime

    The rhapsody is coming
