Kinshasa One Two was made during 5 days of sessions in Kinshasa this summer when the DRC Music collective teamed up with the best of contemporary Congolese musicians and performers. The collective comprises the eclectic production talents of: T-E-E-D (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs), Dan The Automator, Jneiro Jarel, Richard Russell, Actress, Marc Antoine, Alwest, Remi Kabaka, Rodaidh McDonald and Kwes, with album artwork by Hardy Blechman and Aitor Throup.

This is great. But I have to agree with an earlier comment, it sounds A LOT like a Damon Albarn project which it was. I was under the impression that it was going to be more of a collaborative effort, but the production and songwriting sound very Gorillaz-like. Goes to show how important production is. It really shapes the captured sounds in a specific direction...I was expecting something a bit more raw, a bit more "chaotic" for the lack of a better word. It's great music, no doubt.
