A Native Texan, the Dr_ was raised on American jam band music. Groups like Phish and moe. weighed heavy, as did acoustic artists like Keller Williams, Martin Sexton, and Dave Matthews. The festival culture and the open road are lasting influences.

The Dr_'s relationship with music evolved along with the blues/rock-based jam movement. Electronic elements in the songs of STS9, Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Emancipator and Pretty Lights led the Dr_ further afield. Like a weary siren off the third coast, the beats of electronic dance music beckoned..

ATB, 16 Bit Lolitas, Above & Beyond, and Tiesto were early favorites. But the Dr_ eventually stumbled upon the deeper, more musical style of house music. Then it was up to Dutch producers Francesco Pico and Eelke Kleijn to lead the Dr_ into the digital era of podcasts and Soundcloud.

Having lived in Colorado and Spain, and having spent considerable time in Costa Rica and Holland, it's become clear to the Dr_ that electronic dance music is the language of the current generation. It's emotional content and use of technology enable peace in a troubled world.

The "Ice Pak" is just that: 30 minutes of relief. Except that the Dr_ tends to get tied up in surgery and record for closer to 40 minutes. His intent is to share music with his friends. A few tracks mixed together - in proudly amateur fashion - recorded live from The Igloo.

Dedicated to the continued exploration of the world and its noises, the Dr_ offers the "Ice Pak" as music which you might not have come across otherwise. Music that relaxes after a long day. Music which takes focus, but whose purpose is to provide safe distraction. For 40 minutes.. at which point please carry on, or you'll suffer a brain-freeze.
