From his base in Zagreb, Croatia, Dovla has pretty much done it all, from DJing, festival production and stage management to A&R, Compiling and Graphic design. On a daily basis he works as a freelance web designer but at the end of 2010 has joined Flow Records and he now helps run it together with Pena. Dovla is also signed as a label DJ for Interchill Records showcasing his downtempo approach.

As a DJ, Dovla has played at all the major European trance festivals such as Ozora (4 times), VooV festival, Sonica, Indian Spirit, Tshitraka, Aurora, Transahara and many others. He has also helped co-organize one of Croatia’s most respectable trance festivals, Underwater Overground, for 4 years in a row. He is now taking his sound worldwide with more and more international bookings.

Musically he plays two distinct styles, as part of Interchill records label roster it represents his downtempo side, with a more funky and jazzy edge, always making sure to give the people a little bit of a wiggle and not being afraid to take chances, improvise and have fun. The other, more upbeat style can also be heard in many of Flow Records releases, always progressive but with a melodic and quirky edge, taking great care in building a proper set story. The two labels represent both sides to his story and also showcase two very different approaches to DJing and set building.

He has compiled 2 downtempo CDs to date, one in 2006 for Iboga Records’ Sofa Beats sublabel called Floating Point 4, and the recent Flutter on Flow Records. Both broke certain boundaries and received very positive reviews. They emphasize his commitment to bringing timeless tracks with a no-compromise approach to the public. As Flow’s A&R he is constantly on the lookout for new and promising artists and helps release EPs on a monthly basis.

When he’s not doing gigs Dovla mostly does freelance web design work for various labels and organizations and also runs a Croatian trance portal Trancepleme.com. With a great passion for both good electronic music and the scene that surrounds it, his future looks bright indeed.
