Don Stone has been involved in the Upstate NY EDM ever since the first 4-4 beat was played through speakers in the 518.

As an artist, his releases have covered almost the full spectrum of EDM. Don has been signed on Fuego, Loopfreaks, Visionary Mindz, ESP Musik as well as his own imprints, Ancient Aliens and SINsation Sound. No genre has been left untouched with singles ranging from deep house to the hardest dubstep and electro. As the production arm of the duo The Dark Flow, Don has pushed his production standards even higher. His latest side project is a focus on Moombahton as The Ancient Alien. No matter what the ‘alias’ the beats have always been Don’s main focus.

As a label manager, Don has founded 2 distinct labels, Ancient Aliens and SINsation Sound.

Founded in 2006, SINsation Sound has sought to constantly find new and fresh talent. The sounds range from deep house to hard tribal and techno but always have the dance floor in mind. Over 40 releases to date, the label has featured artists such as Christian Scott, Michael Anthony, Javi Lopez, Craig Mitchell as well as Don himself.
In 2011, Ancient Aliens was founded. The new label is focused more on the aggressive sounds of the day. Big Dubstep, Electro and Moombahton tunes are featured on the releases. With a very heavy release schedule, Ancient Aliens is set to be a major factor in EDM.

As an event host and promoter, Don’s passion is realized and brought to the stage. 51Bass and DGS Productions is a culmination of all the work that has come before. What started out in 2002 as AfterhoursNY and small dive bar events has quickly grown into 51Bass and hosting multi day festivals. Over the past few years, DGS/51Bass has been a bright light in Upstate NY nightlife. The headliners we choose are based on talent as opposed to who has the most ‘fans’ on Facebook. 51BassCamp has become their flagship event. In its second year, the festival will be bringing its homegrown vibe back again for 2012.

Driven and obsessed with performing as best as he possibly can, Don’s passion for all EDM is evident at his events. 15 years deep into the game, Don is still pushing the boundaries of DJ performance. On any given night, the sounds you will hear will vary greatly. But the focus always remains, ‘make the crowd move’.
