Operating out of Providence RI as The Range, James Hinton fuses snapshots of global electronic music into a heady brew of deep sub bass, rattling footwork drums, juiced up junglism and dirty south rap beats. Here we present the five track ‘disk’ release, bristling with frenetic energy, complex percussion and cerebral melodies – ‘disk’ is as suitable for the home as it is for the club and marks the latest evolution of The Range sound.
As The Range, Hinton has released previously on Astro Nautico, alongside other such rhythmic alchemists as Obey City, Time Wharp and Howse as well as appearing on remix duties for Kuhn on the London based Civil Music label. Outside of this moniker he released 'Cower', a full length under the alias Stegosaurus, on his own Sqwal Recordings imprint
